Settings & Support

Accessing App Settings

You can access resources and additional settings for the app in the More menu (•••) in the rightmost portion of the bottom nav bar.

More Menu Options

Choose from any of the below:

  • Get Help: Access the documentation (like this!)
  • Report a Bug: Submit technical issues (OR shake the app on any screen to report a bug with a screenshot!)
  • Email Support: Contact the support team directly
  • Join Our Community: Connect with the Sudowrite community
  • Sign Out: Log out of the app

You’ll also see the app’s version number on this page.

Account Settings

You can tap your account name (which is presented along with the associated email address) up top to access account-specific information.

  • Account Information: Name, email, subscription details
  • Credit Balance: Current available credits
  • Recent Activity: A list of recent AI features used and their credit costs
    • Tap any activity to copy its Activity ID (useful for bug reports)

Updating the App

  • Updates release 2-3 times per week
  • Always install the latest version for bug fixes and improvements
  • Check your app store regularly for updates
 

Maintaining Workflow

Best for Mobile:

  • Capturing ideas on the go
  • Voice dictation while walking or commuting
  • Quick edits and additions
  • Accessing Story Bible for reference
  • Using Chat for brainstorming

Best for Web:

  • Complex Story Bible generation
  • Series management
  • Multiple ways to accomplish tasks
  • Accessing deleted items in trash
  • Using full suite of tools
 

Dictation Tips

  • Keep individual dictations under 10 minutes
  • The app will warn you as you approach the time limit
  • Consider breaking longer ideas into multiple dictations
  • Use enhancements to expand short dictations into full prose
 

Working with Agents

  • Choose an agent based on the personality you prefer
  • Clear chat history if the agent gets off-track
  • Use natural language—ask for what you need directly
  • Agents can do most things you'd do manually, faster
 

Troubleshooting

Common Issues

Projects not syncing:

  • Wait 1-2 minutes for automatic sync
  • Verify you're using the same email address on both platforms

Need to recover deleted items:

  • Log in to sudowrite.com on a computer
  • Access the project trash can from the Settings hear in the upper
  • Restore deleted projects

Bug reports:

  • Take a screenshot of the issue
  • Note the steps to reproduce
  • Copy the Activity ID if it relates to a specific generation
  • Submit via "Report a Bug" or "Email Support"

Chat not working properly:

  • Try clearing the chat history (three dots → Clear Chat)
  • Update to the latest app version
  • Report persistent issues to support

  • Bug Reports: Include Activity IDs and screenshots when possible
